In my last blog entry, I mentioned Americans For Prosperity.  I commented that they are mostly Republicans.  That's my impression, not a verified fact.  For example, I'm a member and I'm NOT a Republican (despite what some people think of me).

I go to AFP events when I can.  I've supported their recent petition here in Georgia.  If they're ever foolish enough to give me the opportunity to speak, I'll speak as a LIBERTARIAN.  As part of my core Libertarian beliefs, I think it's in my best interest to seek out people who share at least some of my beliefs, and try to twist them the rest of the way to my sort of thinking.

In that light, I plan to attend a national AFP meeting in Washintgon this October.  The "full disclosure" part involves the fact that someone has offered to pay my way there, and I don't know who that someone is.  Could be George Soros and Barbara Streisand.  Might be Kim Jong Il and Sun Yung Moon.  Could even be Rush Limbaugh, George Bush and Dick Cheney, with some backing thrown in from Osama.

I don't know and I don't care, because having that airfare paid has zero impact on my opinion of what goes on.  And zero impact on what I'll say or do, other than "Thank you."  And if you think otherwise, well, then you've got the information to make that assessment.
